In August 2014 the NSW Disability Inclusion Act 2014 was passed. This Act requires Council to develop a Disability Inclusion Action Plan to help remove barriers and enable people with a disability to participate equally in their community. The Plan is underpinned by the following principles –
- Focusing on abilities not disabilities
- Fundamental rights for all people
- Improving access and inclusion for all
- Genuine dialogue and participation
Dungog Shire Council’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan is to set out the strategy and actions that Council will deliver in the next 4 years to enable people with disability to have greater access to Council services and facilities within the Local Government Area. The plan will include actions for all areas of Council and will guide us in making our services and facilities more inclusive.
To assist Council with the 4 year plan and to support the implementation of the actions in this Plan that will benefit many people in our community we seek your input by completing the short survey below. Please ensure all responses are completed and returned to Council to allow consideration by 28th April 2017.
