Following the opening of the new Mary Carlton’s bridge in December, work is continuing on the new Bruxner bridge and Archinals bridge under the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Bridges program, with work now also commencing on the replacement of Hopson’s bridge.
This week marked the first meeting of our new council. It was great to see all councillors in attendance and I congratulate Cr Steve Low on his election as Dungog Shire’s Deputy Mayor.
This meeting marks the first meeting of the newly elected Dungog Shire Council.
As resolved at this meeting, council will now meet on the third Wednesday of every month from February – November, and on the second Wednesday of December. No meeting will be held in January.
This week, we recognised the contribution of several of our most outstanding citizens, with the presentation of the 2022 Australia Day Awards on Wednesday 26 January.

To ensure the continued wellbeing of our local community, as well as our adherence to the latest COVID-Safe protocols, a number of changes have now been made to our local Australia Day celebrations.
Unfortunately, the planned Breakfast event with Dungog Rotary has now been cancelled.

On 23 December 2021, the NSW Electoral Commission formally declared the results of the local government elections for Dungog Shire Council Wards A, B and C.
