The Mayor, Councillors and staff of Dungog Shire Council would like to wish the residents of Dungog Shire a safe and merry Christmas, and a happy New Year!
2021 truly has been a remarkable year.
Despite continued COVID-19 lockdowns, various extreme weather events and their subsequent impacts, as a community the citizens of Dungog Shire have once again displayed our resilience, our courage and our ability to support one another, no matter what the situation.
Having been automatically elected as Mayor of Dungog Shire at last Saturday’s local government elections, I am proud to be leading our council and our community into its next council term.
Council crews have been busy clearing debris and ensuring safe access for roads and bridges across the shire, following our recent extreme weather events.
Thank you to all of the crews, council staff, SES and community volunteers who worked to keep our community safe during this time.
Across NSW, local government elections are being held tomorrow, Saturday 4 December. These elections were previously scheduled for Saturday 4 September, but were postponed due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dungog Shire Council met on Thursday 2 December 2021 to discuss changes to council meeting dates and delegations, as a result of updated advice from the NSW Electoral Commission.
