Library Frequently Asked Questions

This section answers all of the most commonly asked questions about our library services.

When is the Library open?

Dungog Library is open at the following times:

Monday to Friday         10am to 1pm, and 2pm to 5pm

Saturday                        9.30am to 12noon

 

Photocopying, Printing and Scan Facilities

Photocopy, colour printing and scanning facilities are available. To view the applicable fees go to the Council's Fees & Charges.

 

 

Computer & Internet Access

Computer access to internet and wifi is available free of charge.

Bookings are advisable to ensure access when required, phone 4992 1819 to make your bookings.

Bookings can be made for 30 minute sessions, you may continue past this time if there are no further bookings.

 

Overdue Policy

Overdue items no longer accrue fines, they will be automatically be renewed two days before the due date, unless they are unable to be renewed.

If an item is lost, stolen or damaged beyond repair we will ask for the price of the item plus a non-refundable processing fee.

Please contact us if you receive an Overdue Notice for items you have returned. Items will considered lost if we have not heard from you.

 

On-line Catalogue

Dungog is a member of the Newcastle Regional Library Service.

Access is provided for our customers to the Newcastle Regional Library website where you can search and view the On-line Catalogue.

If there is an item that you want, and it is not on the shelf, you can reserve it by putting it  on "hold"; when the item is available you will be notified, by your choice of mail, phone or email.

If you don't find the item you want in our catalogue please advise the staff and we can consider purchasing it for the library or arrange to borrow it for you from another library. A minimum charge of $11.00 applies to items borrowed from other public libraries.

You may borrow up to twenty items per visit with a maximum of 40 items on loan at one time.

 If an item is not reserved by another customer you can renew it either in person, over the phone or online yourself at home. Three renewals per item is allowed.

An after hours chute is provided at the library.

 

Library Membership

Membership is free!

You can join either in the Library in person or online. There are no forms to fill out.

If you are under 17 you will need an adult family member or guardian to sign for your membership and they must have appropriate identification.

You will be issued with a library card which is required each time you wish to borrow. Please notify the library if you change your name, address or telephone number.

With this card you can use any of the 14 service points of the Newcastle Regional Library.

Please notify the Library immediately if your card is lost or stolen so we can prevent further use of the card.
