Following the Ordinary Council Meeting held in Dungog on 19 February 2025, Council has approved the Draft Code of Meeting Practice for public exhibition. The draft will be available for community feedback on Council's website from 17 July 2025 to 14 August 2025 (28 days).
This Code is required under legislation and must be based on the Model Code of Meeting Practice. Council is also required to review the code within 12 months of each Ordinary Council election.
The Draft Code includes all mandatory provisions from the Model Code, most non-mandatory provisions (with or without modifications), and additional provisions that align with the Model Code requirements.
We welcome your feedback on this important document.
Submissions close at 5:00 PM on 14 August 2025. Please include 'Draft Code of Meeting Practice' in your submission and address it to the General Manager.
