Waste Collection Update – Dungog Region

Due to ongoing extreme weather and flooding, bin collection services across the Dungog region are being adjusted. JR Richards & Sons, in partnership with Council, is working to ensure waste is collected where access allows. Please read below for the latest updates by area:

Dungog Township

Recycling and general waste collections are occurring today. However, some streets and areas may be missed due to flood-related access issues. JR Richards will provide further updates and alternate collection arrangements for affected residents once flood levels subside and road conditions improve.

Paterson, Vacy & Surrounds

Collections are planned for this weekend, pending access. Residents in unaffected areas should place bins out on Friday evening for a potential Saturday morning pick-up.

Clarence Town & Surrounds

Scheduled Thursday collections are currently delayed. Updates will be provided once access is confirmed and it is safe for trucks to enter the area.

Fosterton Area

Friday collections in Fosterton are also being monitored. A confirmed collection day will be advised once access conditions are reviewed by JR Richards.

Additional Support

To assist with the backlog, additional trucks and drivers from Singleton and Muswellbrook have been brought in to support Dungog collections.

Missed Collections in Dungog

If your bin was missed today due to short-notice collection changes, please contact JR Richards directly to arrange for collection.

Please note: All collection plans are subject to change depending on weather and road conditions. We thank all residents for their patience and understanding during this time. Ongoing updates will be provided via Council’s website and social media channels.

Stay safe and follow all local safety advice regarding floodwaters.
