Dungog Waste Management Facility is open to the public but with access limited to 4WD vehicles only due to the recent rain. Conditions will continue to be monitored, and updates provided as they are available.
Dungog Shire Council has been providing soft plastics recycling services to the community since 2017 with efforts from environmental groups such as Single Use Plastic-Free Dungog and Boomerang Bags. While we were only able to recycle clear plastics until December 2025, Council has been collaborating with ReSmart since March 2026, to recycle mixed soft plastics which includes plastic bags, bread bags, chip packets and food wrappers.
The dashboard (linked below) will show live data on how much soft plastics have been recovered and recycled. Council encourages residents to continue bringing their soft plastic to Dungog Waste Management Facility for recycling and diversion from landfill.
