Kerbside Green Waste Clean-Ups

13 October 2025 – 17 October 2025

Dungog Shire Council is providing a Green Waste only Clean-Up. This will enable processing and recycling of green waste, saving landfill space and utilising this valuable resource.

Who is the service for?

Residential premises within the 50km sign posted town areas of the following villages:

  • Clarence Town
  • Dungog
  • East Gresford
  • Gresford
  • Martins Creek
  • Paterson
  • Vacy

When does it happen?

Collections will commence on Monday 13th October 2025. 

Please put your green waste out the weekend before.

Where do I put it?

Please place your green waste neatly next to the edge of the kerb, not blocking the footpath, at your normal weekly collection point. Please also secure items to avoid windblown littering.

How much can I put out?

The volume of green waste collected from any one property shall not exceed two (2) cubic metres.

What's acceptable?

  • Garden prunings and tree limbs no longer than 1.8m and 250mm diameter
  • Lawn clippings and loose vegetation which must be in sturdy cardboard boxes
  • All green waste must be tied securely with rope or string (not wire) into bundles
  • All green waste must be of manageable size for one (1) person to lift.

Unacceptable Items:

These materials will NOT be collected:

  • Items in plastic bags (including woven poly bags)
  • Loose items
  • Large tree trunks & thorny bushes
  • Tree stumps larger than 250mm in diameter
  • Timber with bolts, brackets, etc.
  • Sawdust
  • Bundles secured with wire
  • Any items other than green waste

The Contractor and Council have the right to reject any material they consider unacceptable.
