Community Small Grants Program 2026

Dungog Shire Council is inviting community organisations to apply for funding for projects, activities, events and small equipment purchases that strengthen community wellbeing, participation, resilience and inclusion across the Shire.

 

Who can apply

  • Incorporated not-for-profits
  • Community groups auspiced by an incorporated organisation
  • Charitable sporting, cultural and community associations.

Not eligible:

  • Individuals
  • Government agencies
  • Sec.355 Committees
  • Political organisations
  • Commercial businesses
  • Organisations with outstanding grant acquittals to Council.

What's funded

  • Community events
  • Workshops and educational activities
  • Volunteer training and equipment
  • Cultural/heritage/youth programs
  • Wellbeing and disaster preparedness activities.

Not funded:

  • Ongoing operational costs/salaries
  • Building construction/maintenance
  • Retrospective funding
  • Projects primarily benefiting private individuals.

Assessment criteria

  • Community benefit (40%)
  • Need for the project (25%)
  • Capacity to deliver (20%)
  • Value for money (15%)
