Dungog Waste Management Facility is open to the public but with access limited to 4WD vehicles only due to the recent rain. Conditions will continue to be monitored, and updates provided as they are available.
Dungog and Clarence Town pools were completely drained recently to allow cleaning and inspection works to begin. Dungog pool has now been cleaned, while cleaning works are underway at Clarence Town pool.
The next stage of the project will focus on the filtration system at Dungog pool. Sand will be removed from the filters to allow a thorough inspection of their condition. This step is not currently required at Clarence Town Pool, where the filtration system is newer and more accessible.
Once the filter sand has been removed, Council will engage specialist swimming pool consultants Swimplex to undertake a comprehensive assessment of both facilities. This assessment will review the condition of the pool shells, filtration systems and associated plant and equipment.
The findings will help Council better understand the current condition of both pools and inform future maintenance and planning.
