I’m pleased to share with you that at our Ordinary Meeting held this week, council resolved to increase its road maintenance funding by $250,000 in the current financial year, to deliver a blitz on the growing list of road defects and safety concerns, following this year’s extreme weather events.

Update on Development of our 10-year Open Space and Recreation Plan: 22 April 2022

Council is continuing the development of its 10-year Open Space and Recreation Plan, which covers council-owned and managed land that provides parks, open space, recreation and tourism opportunities.

In Dungog Shire, this consists of 21 parks, 10 sporting sites, 12 playgrounds and 2 pools (not including Showgrounds).

Fixing Country Bridges Update: 22 April 2022

In 2021, council received $16.44M for the replacement of 23 of the 24 timber bridges in Dungog Shire, under the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Bridges program.

While wet weather has heavily impacted this program, with 266 days being lost to rain during the past 12 months, significant achievements have been realised.
